Will there be codes popping up for aftermarket front bumper?
I was looking for some front bumpers that has no fog light/DRL, which my base E350 has it and it looks ugly...
is there a way to run a resistor or tune the code off?
If you never turned the fog lights on then I could only assume the car will never know. Like mine I have all the little BS lights removed, interior, door, trunk, glove box etc. The car doesn't have a clue until I activate one of them, and the code also goes away when not activated. So basically I'm unaware it sees these things unless I'm scanning the car with the door etc open.
Not sure it'll be like that with the Fog lights, but I'd just go out and unplug one and see what happen.
Yes it can be coded out, you just need to figure it out or find someone who can, like BenzNinja.
If you use a resistor then I would assume it would need to be one hella resistor. I'd imagine the fog lights are 50W? You'd likely need several power resistors and a heat sink if powered for any length of time. Or maybe the car only trips a code if there is zero load. I suppose I'd put smaller loads on it to see about where it trips.
