Repair Opinion
I have a 2012 E550 with the M278 engine with 107K miles and am needing a few repairs. I have a small oil and coolant leak. The coolant leak is coming from the water heater and the oil leak is from the cam covers. I am new to the area, but have found a European repair place I sort of trust, but wanted to get everyone's opinion. They want to replace magnet seal, the 4 turbo coolant lines, water pump, engine oil separator cover, oil filter and cooler gaskets and various other seals and gaskets - all with OE parts. They also found oil in the camshaft position sensors and are replacing all 4.
I now live in a condo with no garage and can no longer do much of my own maintenance. They want $3600 for these repairs. Opinions?

Hi Davery.
My thoughts.
..your mechanic seems to have good diagnostic skills.
..car repair bills are gonna happen.
..you are maintaining a glorious v8..lucky you!
..replacing your Mercedes would be expensive (and likely not a sweet v8).
..consider it an investment into your cars future.
..with your low mileage, the car is barely broke-in.
..if you are unsure of the repair shops abilities, do one repair first.
..take some pictures before surgery.
..tip your service advisor $20. it will reduce your repair bill by a few hundred $$ (it works!).
..note your mileage in/out of repair.
..get a second opinion.
But I'm usually wrong.
