iphone and mercedes
I have a 2018 400ecab and an iphone x they don't play together very well
for example, each time i try wireless charging in the car, my phone defaults to apple pay (because of NFC) is there a fix to that?
Also, i was told that the wireless charging feature in the car and phone would allow me to connect apple play to the command module wirelessly. I can't. I still need to use the USB cable. Does anybody know anything about that?

As for the annoying NFC popping up, there should be a setting in COMAND to turn off NFC pairing. I’ve heard this but can not confirm because I DONT HAVE MY CAR (hint, hint Baltimore VPC).
Hope that helps. Even though one is bad news.

I am amazed that it's 2019 and MB still hasn't figured out CarPlay or Android Auto across all it's models. Then I think about the basic Kia and Hyundai rental cars I've had which have had CarPlay since 2015? Then there's BMW with it's subscription model, but at least they have wireless CarPlay.
Happily, I have wireless CarPlay in my 2015 E400 Cab, and it works great with my iPhone X. But it's no thanks to MB. Don't get me wrong, I love just about everything else about MB, but the whole inconsistent CarPlay/Android Auto integration is a bad joke.

Third party smartbox from Joyeauto. Check out this DIY thread. I had a friend's shop install mine, but it's plug & play, no wire cutting necessary.
