My 2018 C238 went in for service this week, currently at 5200 miles (due by date). Shortly after purchasing the car, I noticed a slight rattle in the center dash and in the drivers door. There was also a sound of something “rolling” around in the driver’s side door when accelerating or braking. It sounded like a pencil or piece of hardware in the door pocket. Both were driving me nuts.

While in for service the dealer found a door panel tab and hardware loose inside the door, possibly not assembled properly during manufacturer.

The dealer suggested the plastic grill on the dash has been the source of noise for many 17 & 18 E class (similar dash), and said they would apply a strip of felt. When they inspected it already had felt strip, and they took the dash apart. They found an electronic module improperly mounted inside the dash.

the car is rattle free now. I am grateful the dealer took the time to inspect and correct the complaint.

Not sure if others have experienced any rattles or noise.
