Speed Limit

Speed Limit
Hey does anyone know of a way to remove the top speed limiter from 130mph. The previous models had it at 155mph which is more practical. I really want to push my car to its full potential , but the limiter prevents it from doing that. It has so much power, it felt like I was going 80mph. Any tips would be appreciated.

One tip is don't get caught, some states can confiscate the car.

You will need to purchase a tune to have the speed limiter removed. Check with Renntech, Kleeman, etc. On a side note, beware that tunes may affect your factory warranty.

within it's load rating and with no patches or plugs.
I'm not sure where you live or what kind of track experience you have but I can't think of any public roads in the US that I would ever consider exceeding 130mph on. Most of the nice flat roads out West that come to mind have sudden dips and imperfections that would unsettle the car at that kind of speed. Maybe I80 through Nevada? Mohave in Socal won't work, too rough and too much random cross traffic from locals on dirt bikes and ATVs.

The stock tires that shipped with your car are probably not rated for >130mph. If you lose a tire at that speed it's all over. You need W or Y tires to even approach 150mph. Remember the tire's speed rating is for a virgin tire at optimal pressure

And I haven't checked the Mercs tires, but if my 112mph limited Volvo has 150mph Z-rated OEM tires what the h*ll is wrong with AMG?

I40 still has a bit of truck traffic and grade changes that seem slight, but at 150+ they may as well be blind hills. I don't know how often you run through there but there are a lot of ATVs, bikes, and toy-hauler trucks around Barstow.
