The 2018 manual for my E400 Cabriolet says that the top can be opened at a speed of 30 mph, but will stop if the speed exceeds 35mph.
The 2019 manual states the top operates at up to 37mph. See screenshots of the 2 manuals.
Does anyone know if MB did something mechanically to the roof to enable operation at the slightly higher speed, or is it a software setting that could be changed in my 2018 to enable it to operate at the slightly higher speed.
Nevermind. I just noticed that the kph is the same for both model years, and it appears someone didn't convert kph to mph correctly in the 2018 manual. 60 kph=37mph, so it appears nothing changed.
Or they assumed that the 2019's had a 2 mph tailwind I try not to do the top at all when moving. I mean what if you were at 29 mph and had a 31 mph head wind gust, that would be 60MPH wind on the open top and could tear it off or something.
I do occasionally open the top when moving but at less than 30 MPH, probably around 20MPH.
I am sure Mercedes engineers took the possibility of gusting winds when they set the max at 3o, but why risk it.
