Very nice sounding exhaust especially when it revs. I'm thinking maybe by welding a pair of magna flow mufflers I could come close to this without spending a fortune on AMG performance mufflers with the electronic valves.
This and a Tune to bump up the car 100 extra hp would be perfect. I'd have one heck of a sports luxury top down cruising car.

Interesting, looks like that is just for Europe, you Europeans get all the good stuff. Thats a great idea that sound module, looks expensive though @1650 Euros so probably not many are sold. I almost hate to start having up my car with aftermarket exhaust parts, not to mention ending up with a rattle or something after the job. Darn though if there something like that to pipe in V8 sound to the speakers here in the USA at a reasonable price I'd be game. It must be interesting having a E cab with a Diesel, how does it sound with the top down, much noise?

Actually the more I think about it the car is probably better off quiet as it is, so never mind, lol. I guess those days of loud hot rods are behind me.

Hahaha. No! Exhaust valve have been banned in Germany. This is the only way to get a little bit sound in the car. You can be happy that you don't have 1000 roles and regulations around your car. i.e. if you remove the warning airbag sticker on your sun visor, you get a $10 fine...

Yes, that's probably the best bet. I'm just waiting for the hand held tuners to come down in price, they are still way too much money starting at around 1800 bucks or so. www.amrtuning.com This is the tuner, I noticed they dropped the price a little when I just looked $1700.00 Handheld. I have a question in to them as to whether this E400 handheld has been tested yet on the E450. I sure would not want to go using something that is not right for the car. https://shop.amrperformance.com/prod...includes-tune/

E450 Cabrio
Did you finally reprogram the ecu? That amr site you posted sti only has the programmer for e400 only, nothing for e450. I asked them, waiting for response. Anyway their unit for e400 is too expensive, but offers the largest hp gain I've seen among similar products 90 to 100 hp. I found a racechip for $799 which adds 67 hp and 91 tq and is designed exactly for e450

I’m really Leary of a lot of the claims. I settled on the Dinan sport tuner for the 3.0 Mercedes and am more than satisfied with the results. Around a ten percent increase in hp and torque. Nothing huge but the car is just much more drivable with a velvet like low end throttle response. Kinda reminds me of the feel of my 2015 s class in drivability. You could swear the V6 was a V8. Simple install once you learn how to remove the connector to the boost sensor. The little white tab slides out and you hear it click. Push down on it and pull and slide out the connector. Simple. 5 minute install. Worth every penny of the $249 price for the unit. No check engine lights at all and has been run in race mode which ups boost 4 lbs for 3 months. Car pulls pretty effortlessly now and gas mileage has remained the same. Decided on no intake or exhaust mods. Just editing to say too that the app for bluetooth for the cell phone does not go very long distances and if need be to change modes just stand outside the car with your phone. Once it is set in the mode you want (Valet, sport, sport plus or race) it will remain in that mode even if removed and disconnected. This little thing has some smart engineering to it, the main complaint is the bluetooth connection through the app but people must understand bluetooth is limited in range and going through the firewall into the passenger compartment from the front of the engine bay is a long stretch. I'd think most would just want to leave it in race mode all the time with the max 4 lbs boost like I do anyhow. You gotta figure with this car being underrated from the factory in HP is probably pushing well over 400 hp at the crank. I'd figure the car would be close to a new camaro SS or mustang GT being a more efficient driveline than the american cars and with the way I've seen in the past that american cars go the opposite way and overate HP. Mustang GT is rated at 460 HP. Although this car is about 400 lbs more heavy than the Mustang, but I still think it would be a drivers race.

Ok, thanks for detailed response. What about the exhaust? Did you do anything to make is sound more aggressive?

By the way anyone on this forum done anything to their e450 to make it sound more agressive? Besides changing the entire exhaust.

Nope, I've decided to just leave everything else stock. A lot of the time in the past when I've tinkered with exhausts I'm sorry as you could end up with drone or just get tired of all the noise, I must be getting old, lol. I've decided against doing any intakes too it's pretty counter productive and check engine lights are common with them as your changing around the intake flow and sucking hot air under the hood.
