Burmester 3D in the E Coupé, experiences?
It is difficult to get specific info from Mercedes about the Burmester 3D version for the coupé model, so I am asking here if anyone of you have this combination, or have knowledge about it.
It seems to me that for instance the space at the corner front door window is less in the coupe than the sedan, thus making it difficult for one of the additional Burmester 3D speakers to fit there, but maybe they have a smaller speaker for the coupe model..?
Also I am curious if the roof speaker and the speakers for the corner area of the front door windows have ambient lighting or not...
Hoping for any input/answers! :-)
thanks
Jesper

Center ceiling rear does have ambient light:
Just for completeness is the trunk sub-woofer configuration if it is different then the non-3D Burmeister. Notice the standard trunk liner does not fit correctly because of the extra space required.
P.S. Sorry for the poor pictures but the car is in the garage at the moment with low light. Let me know if you would like some clearer ones.
I did learn that it _can_ be retrofitted, but at great costs though.
Do I understand it correctly, if there is no speaker/tweeter in the small "triangle-space" at the corner of the front windows?
Great to know there is ambient light in the roof speaker.
Are you into sound quality/an "audiophile"...? What is your experience of the Burmester 3D?
And did you by any chance get to compare the normal Burmester to the Burmester 3D?
I am pretty sound savvy and really enjoy the system output. Never compared the two as they did not have a 3D available in the E-Class on the lot so bought sight unseen so to speak. I only have flac files which I do notice some intonations which I hadn't picked up on my home hifi. It has good clarity on all types of music and what I term "spaciality" when comparing to my headphones ability to bring sound from various surround angles. Put it this way, you can hear fingers strumming chords on guitars and artists breathing in on wind instruments.
Only complaint I do have is the system is not overly super loud considering the amount of power it has. It's loud enough for sure and oozes sound quality not quantity.
