Can you add a seatbelt bringer button to an E-class cab?

I have an E53 Cabriolet, and one feature I really like is the automatic seat belt extension arm that brings the seatbelt to you every time you or your passenger get in the car. The problem is sometimes I get in the car and (before I am ready to drive) perform a few tasks like answering texts or emails. During this time, the seatbelt extender often retracts on its own. Before someone pounces, I am doing these things while the car is in PARK and BEFORE I start driving.

I have noticed that some MB models (including the E450 cab, I believe) have a button you can press that brings the seatbelt to you. I appear to have an extra spot for a button, but no actual button. Does anyone know if a seatbelt bringer button can be added after the fact to an E-class?

What other extras/options/packages have you been able to add to your E-class Cab after the fact?

Thanks.

Place for seatbelt bringer button on the bottom of the right hand side.

Interesting. Yeah my E450 cab has that button but it’s interesting to note that many other buttons are different.

you’ve got a M with gears where my raise and lower button is. The stupid automatic engine on/off button is where your traction control button is (I say stupid because it won’t stay off when you start the car again)

Yes it will – once install a device sold on eBay. There are several posts about that gadget, including some from me. Works great!

I thought I would HATE the automatic engine on/off feature, as past cars I test drove with this feature were very jerky and the fact that your car was off (and was turning on) was very noticeable.

However, and this is one area where the E53 hybrid set up really shines, I honestly cannot feel the car turning off or on in the E53. It is truly seamless. I was so ready to hate it, but I am 100% happy with this car turning off. It is that unnoticeable.

The raise and lower button on mine is on the panel to the left of the steering wheel next to the lane and steering assist buttons.

NEW QUESTION: Does anyone have a link to the MB OEM website where I might be able to look up and order the parts in case I want to order and install the missing seatbelt bringer button that sackboydad has on his E450 cab, but is unexplainably missing on my E53 cab?

Switch is incorporated into switch block, MB does not offer it separately. EPC shows part # for 2019 e450 cabriolet switch block is 2389056600, e53 cabriolet 2139052203. One would need to match switch block to your vehicle’s equipment spec (i.e.: switchable exhaust) then figure out communication to belt extender e53 may not be prewired as such per manual.

Thanks!! That answers the question of whether MB missed a step when building my car, and the part numbers. Thanks!! 😎

Would love to know the business/technological reasoning behind the AMG specific note saying: "The seat belt extender button is not available in Mercedes-AMG vehicles." 🤔
