19 vs 18 wheels AMG 2020 E450

19 vs 18 wheels AMG 2020 E450
I was thinking about getting an E450 coupe. The 2020 E450 coupe comes with chrome around the window framing standard. I like black, and you can get that but not without also getting AMG styling. That would be okay, but AMG styling only comes with 19" wheels. I have a problem with that. My 2013 SL550 has 19" and i've had to replace several wheels and tires after they were destroyed by inescapable potholes. First world problem, i know. I would get the car with 18" wheels if i could trade the 19s in on them, but wonder if the AMG styling creates a problem with 18"s and requires 19s to fit the AMG car. Anyone know?

E450 4Matic Cabrio
I have 2020 E450 4Matic Cabrio with AMG styling. Came with 18” all seasons. I too have gone through innumerable wheels and tires on my previous BMW 6 series Vert. So far, no issues with the 18” Pirellis that came on my car.

I’ve had the 19” inch wheels that come with the AMG package on my 2018 E400 Coupe for more than 2 years (I purchased my car shortly after the current-generation coupe body style came out in 2017). I’ve hit several significant potholes but I have not damaged the wheels. I’ve been very happy with them.
