Question Convertible top best practices

My E450 is my first convertible. It is garaged at night. Leaving the top down all the time might wrinkle or stress the fabric. Raising and lowering the top all the time may lead to extra wear on the mechanism or on those cords that run between the headliner and the top. Lately the weather‘s been great for daily top down driving. Do you leave your top down overnight or do you put it up and down each day? Perhaps it doesn’t matter? What do you do and why?

If you don't have rats in your garage, top down should be fine, I think.

I leave mine down at night in the garage. My car is almost two years old and I see no wrinkling in the fabric at all.

now for the mechanism... I do have one fault... I really don’t like leaving the top down when I’m gone in a store. So I find I do a lot of raising and lowering from my home to the store and back. Oh well.
