2017 A238 E300: severe misfiring, idling issues, and loss of power
Hi guys, I'm an owner of a 2017 A238 E300 cabriolet petrol, 245bhp 180kw, bought it brand new from the UK in March 2018 and exported to Malawi and been driving it since, I drive it every weekend and sometimes during the week, mileage so far is about 12,000km. When starting the car and when driving there used to be white smoke, and I noticed a slight loss in power generally, this stopped, and when stuck in traffic for over 2 hours, the car was shaking / jerking on first gear at low speeds, have to put my foot down completely in order to speed up past 20km/h and when I get to 60km/h the car is fine. This has continued. Got a technician to look at the vehicle, ran diagnostics and claimed that there is an issue with cylinder 3, he alleges to have checked the spark plugs and coil, all fine, checked the injector and says it is fine, so there is a problem with the piston.
Got another technician to have a look and he ran diagnostics in my presence, states issue with cylinder 1, checked the spark plug and it was gone completely. Replaced it, car was fine, drove 10km, parked it. Next morning same problem started, spark plug cylinder 1 slightly damaged. Technician told me it's the injector, so I have ordered a new one.
The mercedes benz dealer in Malawi closed down, mainly due to the technicians not being able to service the cars and making things worse.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Can a piston or injector have these issues at 12,000km? If so, why? Warranty won't be honoured by a UK dealer because I exported the car from the UK.
