Extended Restart by STOP and GO Traffic Not Working

Hey all,

I just crossed one year ownership of my E400 Coupe. I have recently noticed my start/stop does not work anymore. It worked perfectly when I bought the car,. The button is engaged, no demand on energy, as in no air blowing etc., but it doesn't shut off at lights.

Any ideas?

There are two main causes that I am aware of. First, is the main battery fully charged? If driven on short trips or infrequently, likely not. The other is the "auxiliary battery" capacitor failure. It's not unheard of.

You are lucky…I can’t figure out how to permanently disable this useless feature.

Search the forums – there are a lot of threads on this, including one I posted about a device I purchased that turned it off permanently (it can still be activated if for some unfathomable reason you want to use it).
