Overheating Cell Phone in Wireless Charging Tray
I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 that I use as a backup phone and place in the Qi charging tray in my E450 coupe. Almost without fail, after 15-20 minutes in the tray, the COMAND system tells me that my phone cannot be charged because it's too hot. It seems like I read somewhere that there's a fan that cools the charging tray. It is possible that my fan is not working (and can be repaired under warranty...which is still good for another 16 months)...or is my five-year old backup phone possibly overheating because of its age?

The wireless charging pad on my Audi did the same thing, especially if I don't have it centered on the phone.
