Considering re-buying an E300h MHEV ?efficiency

Previously leased a 2020 E300 coupe. Loved it but then went through a period of time where I didnt need it. I was getting around 26mpg but this was almost exclusively urban driving (think outer london).

I am now in a position where I will be driving >10,000 miles a year. Most of this will be A/M roads so the car will be in cruise control. I am concerned re the efficiency of the car and wanted to get some opinions.

I am also limited in options as I want to get a car with adaptive cruise control. The useless MB website doesnt even let you filter by cars which have this pack!

I test drove the 220d and found it a bit sluggish so would prefer petrol or a reasonable priced diesel.

1. Does the mild hybrid part make much of a difference. In theory the car will be set to adaptive cruise control for a significant portion of the journey
2. Should I be concerned re the battery?
3. Should I give up on the idea of an efficient coupe and go with the polestar.
4.The cars I am seeing are an extra 5-6K for adaptive cruise control. Does it work well enough for it to be worth it? Ideally once on the M roads I want to sit back and relax with one hand on the wheek
5. Should I just get a polestar for £10K less!

Thanks

1. The mild hybrid does make a difference in smoother acceleration and engine startup, it helps with moving more quickly compared to having to wait till the turbo spools up. As for efficiency, it depends on driving behaviour, the vehicle will coast turn off engine when in eco mode and your foot not on the pedal.
2. Depending on how long you keep the vehicle, certain places have 8 year or 10 year warranty on the 48V battery, I am not sure where you are.
3. You probably like the coupe better personal preference really.
4. The adaptive cruise and the whole DISTRONIC suite does work well.
5. If you prefer the polestar more.
