C238 Engine Swap Thoughts
New to forum! I have made many searches both on here and across the internet and cant find many answers. Please let me know/remove if this is answered elsewhere.
I own a c238 e300 that I am looking to build into my next project. For clarity it is not my daily (actually never used) so the idea of the build is for fun, not to worried re financially or if its a long term process. I see many other replies that it is cheaper to, not worth it etc. I have also swapped engines on other models before so not my first run at it.
Question - I am able to get my hands on a M156 (63 amg motor). Has anyone seen, heard of or can point me in the direction of how they did it?
I imagine some issues to resolve would be:
- ECU talking to car side electronics
- Gearbox alignment. If the current did not match (unlikely) then the m156 gearbox would likely affect driveshaft length?
- Engine mounts/general alignment of major engine components.
Positives:
- E coupe is a bigger engine bay than C so presumption is physically it wold fit?
Any/all thoughts are welcomed.
Cheers.
