E400 Cabriolet
E400 M276TT Diverter Valve Upgrade

My previous Cabriolet was an Audi and VW has had it share of diverter valve problems.

I noticed that Mercedes had specified a diverter valve that looks similar to the type that VW had problems with. However without looking at the procurement specifications or extensive testing it is not possible to verify that Mercedes specified the same material.

Having said that I was very happy with the DV+ diverter valve upgrade.

This upgrade is consistent with my desired outcome for my E400.

Here is how I would describe the DV+ on a stock tune: When driving with a light touch on the accelerator pedal any depression of the accelerator results in a noticeably faster response.

It just makes the E400 nicer to drive.

Here is the part that I bought

EDIT: I bought two of the T9358 for my TT

The new DV+ seal O-ring is smaller at 20mm

The original O-ring was 24mm
The original O-ring was 24mm

The DV+ is smaller but it is sealing fine in my E400. I didn’t measure the surface in the turbo but based on my results it seems to be able to accommodate either size.

For now I am running one DV+ and one Stock diverter valve.

When I have time I will install the second DV+

Take care

Paul

Thanks for the info. Did you purchase direct from Go Fast Bits?

Figure about $350 USD plus shipping for both right?

I bought them one at a time and I looked for a place that I trusted that would ship for free.

I did it this way because I wasn’t sure that it would fit. To be completely transparent I am only certain that the easy to install side fits. I still need to take the other side apart and to install the DV+

I am confident but the work isn’t done yet

As for the cost

ECS Tuning charged me $153.99 after a 10% discount

Tuner Sports charged me $130

The price included shipping but sales tax was additional

Checking today and both vendors are about $155

I don’t think the Tuner part was counterfeit I think the price was lower because it had been sitting in their warehouse and they wanted to sell it.

My recommendation is to go with a vendor that you trust.

Take care

Paul
