1976 300D questions for the Vets (link inside)

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a cheap vintage diesel. This one car one ebay caught my eye

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tchlink:top:en

1) I was wondering if there are any issues i should be concerned with in these models. There are a few rust spots i can see visually in the engine bay, but overall it looks clean.

2) Is there something specific I should ask the seller? Specifically related to this w115 model?

3) Does the price seem fair? All things given.

From what I understand these motors last 500,000+ miles if maintained nicely. I just really want this model as a weekend car, and possibly use it for gas economy because the 10mpgs im getting in my current car is getting annoying.

Thank you in advance
FiL

I just bought one last month for me.
My daughter decided she wanted it as her first car.

The biggest issue with the W114/W115 models is rust. They're very good at it. I have one for sale but it needs a head gasket.
