Guide - auto floor shifter bushings
Hi MBWorld
I've owned a few mercs over the years but never used the merc forums before, so here is my first post.
I currently have a 1976 230.6 (in RHD, in New Zealand)
It had a loose auto shifter (on the tunnel, not on the column)
I had already replaced the hard-to-press-on bushings on the linkage underneath the car... which did need replacement, and it helped a bit
(I knew about these from my previous old merc which needed them too)
However my floor shifter was still fairly loose.
There are 2 more sets of bushings in the mechanism, one of those sets is pretty critical, the other just "nice to have"
So I made a full pictorial guide how to remove/replace those bushings.
Here it is: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mercede...bushings/76698
Enjoy
PS: it took me a long time to even figure out what part numbers I needed:

- 1152671250 - Main Shifter Bushings
- 1152670950 - Small Shifter Bushings - not critical
