Retrofitting Catalytic converter to w115 diesel
Pretty sure the old Merc's did not come with a catalytic converter circa 1970-1976.. I am in market to get one, and am wondering if it is possible to fit a catalytic converter to one? Is it even worth it, seeing it is mechanically driven.. - would it just clog the converter up right away? 2.4L N/a Diesel is the engine.
Also another idea i thought of. The new Merc's have the blutec technology. Friend that works there says it is just a fluid sprayed in a mist via injector into the exhaust. Could this be another alternative to reducing emissions? Custom fit an injector into exhaust, spray, say water to start, into a mist?
I think a found my answer on this page - https://www.dieselforum.org/policy/why-retrofit - Dont know how to delete my post. But if anybody comes across this can look at that website. Will update when things get started.
Any other input is appreciated
