Just got the car now what?
Ok, I just got my 300D turbo W123 last Saturday. Already I love it.
The guy I bought it from was into restoring G-Wagens. He said that he changed the oil, trans fluid, dif lube, fuel filter, and serviced the alda. He also said he did the glow plugs. They really don't look brand new, but it starts up great, perhaps it sat for sometime after he did it. Trans fluid looks and smells new. I have no idea if he changed the trans filter.
So, the car runs great, but I want to do everything to keep it that way. I plan on doing a coolant flush and fill. I'd like to do the power steering filter. I guess that just sits in the reservoir. I need to look at the fuel pre-filter.
I'm I missing anything?
I am very experienced with cars, just new to Benz. My first car was a VW diesel.
Also I will be putting new tie rods on the car. The passenger side was bent real bad. The other side has a bad end. The tires squeal terrible around corners at even slight speed. I'll have it aligned after the rods go on. It looks to me like there is a fair amount of negative camber on the front wheels. That's just an observation. Is that normal? Are springs customary at 191,000. I don't mind the soft ride.
