FOR SALE: 1985 Mercedes 300CD Turbodiesel, Low-Mi - Texas
I'm selling my 1985 Mercedes Benz 300CD Turbodiesel (pictured) and would love to find a home for this beautiful coupe that will care for and appreciate it as much as I have.
My vintage TWO-OWNER coupe has been garage-kept its entire life, spending its years rust-free in Arizona and Texas. This car was a European Delivery special: the original owner saw it drive off of the assembly line in Germany.
A PAMPERED SUNDAY DRIVER
Low mileage: 123,052
Only driven on average 4,733 mi/yr.
This car has been meticulously maintained, with no expense spared by both the original owner and myself. Comes with ALL maintenance records and receipts from 1985 to Present (as shown in the photos on Autotrader), original owners manual and service manual.
After a nation-wide search and more than a few "iffy" test drives in old 123's with less-than-clear maintenance histories, it was immediately clear that this car had been PAMPERED and taken care of in a way that few cars this age have been.
From the moment I sat in the driver's seat (which was in like-new condition thanks to over 20 years of being covered with thick, cushy sheepskin covers) and turned on the engine, it felt different. I wasn't in an "old" car -- I was in a time-capsule.
Driving this car, you feel like it's driving just as it did when it rolled off the assembly line.
TRUE LUXURY
The 300CD gets constant compliments. The quality of manufacturing is evident in every detail. When you close the door, it’s like closing a vault. The car starts up the first time, every time. As you accelerate onto the highway, the gears change smoothly. There is serious get-up in her go: You will feel it as you gleefully leave lesser cars in the slow lane on long uphill grades, or eat highways for breakfast with the cruise control set for 70.
POWER and MPG
Mercedes’s cast-iron diesel engine is built to last and the 300CD Turbodiesel’s is the best of the best: the turbocharged 3.0-liter, 5-cylinder. Gets 27 and 33 miles to the gallon, right up there with a 2011 Honda Accord! ALSO, if you’ve looked into cars for biodiesel and/or vegetable oil conversion, you know that there isn’t a better candidate than the 1985 123-series Mercedes.
MORE DETAILS
Non-smoking owners... Still smells showroom-new. Floor mats shown cover pristine original carpets. Original Becker stereo delivers a rich, analog sound. Trunk holds mint-condition alloy spare & tire toolkit. A/C blows strong and cold. New blower motor recently installed at Mercedes. Previous owner converted to R134. Hairline crack in dash between center vents. History: One very minor traffic scrape (the only one, w/previous owner). As with everything in this car’s life, only the best would do. The car got a new paint job, with the paint custom matched to the Mercedes original color guide and done at the best shop.
PRICE
$10,999
