M115 Engine overrun
I have a 1979 W123 with M115 engine. When the engine is hot, it overruns -
the engine continues to run after the ignition is switched off.
I have checked the idle shut off valve. It seems to be fine, coming on with a click sound when the ignition switch is on and going of when switched off.
Could over advanced or retarded ignition timing cause this in a gas engine?
What other possibilities?
