Rebuilding injection pump
#2
Why do you think it needs to be rebuilt?
Unless it has been abused with vegetable oil or starved of lubricating oil its rare for an injection pump to fail on these engines. They should last the life of the engine.
9/10 times is just a glowplug issue, valves need to be adjusted, chain/injection timing needs corrected, injectors need cleaned or just a plain dirty fuel filter.

You are right. Adjusting valves, changing glow plugs, and reindexing the pump will make a hell of a difference. Im actually pretty good at tuning these 5 cyl engines, and my W123 is running very well at the moment.
Its my 92 300SD thats giving me problems with the pump. The previous owner had access to industrial diesel fuel and managed to ruin the pump with it.
So what I was really looking for is someone to rebuild my 6 cyl inj pump. I was hoping someone could recommend a good place to send my pump.
( Other than H+R fuel injection in Bohemia, NY)
