MYFIRSTMB

I just bought a 2010 E550 coupe. I really like it. But there is a peculiar thing when resetting the trip screen. It shows a high MPG at the reset, like 18.5 mpg; while I am sitting in my driveway. And it doesnt go away. So a mile or so down the road when I know I should be showing very low MPG because of lights and stops, it gives me a 17 mpg or more. Clearly something is wrong. On reset it should show zero or a blank until travel a little.
Has anyone seen this, is there a repair. It seems this is clearly a malfunction. My other car does it right (not a MB), shows a blank until I have traveled about 1/4 mile then picks up from whatever is going on, usually city travel at first with low mpg and then does dynamic averaging as the distance accumulates in the trip.
