My Orient Red 300D
this is pretty much just going to be a randomly updated progress thread on my new to me 300D
This is my first Mercedes, it is a 1983 300D in Orient Red that I purchased from the original family for cheap and with 225,000miles on the clock.
The day I brought her home, as you can see she had seen better days. My Subaru hiding in the garage
First order of business was to change out the blown motor mounts and motor shocks. As you can see not much left of the old ones.
Next was getting rid of the HORRIBLE US spec sealed beam headlights, picked up a set of Depo lights.
In which I very quickly frenched
Good friends 123 in the background
Much better
next came Euro bumpers front and rear
I am pretty sure even a legally blind person could tell the paint was trash!
So out came the buffer and rubbing compound
Thanks to my friend Mikey's hard work amazingly the paint came back to life
oh yeah and Brabus tipped straight pipe happened somewhere in time, all this so far is me only having the car for maybe 2 weeks
While Mikey was working his magic with the paint I decided to polish up all the badges and restore the sun faded gauge cluster
that water bead
this might upset some people but I decided to retrofit my headlights with a Morimoto Mini D2S 3.0 kit
Evening Mercedes hangs
Work
lowered the front, haven't gotten around to the rear yet hence the rake. Also mounted Enkei 92's for now, most likely won't be what I settle on.
Iphone roller
Decided to roll down to Portland for Red Door Meet with a couple of friends
rest stop picture
the drive home from Portland was a long and late one. The wagon's hydraulics for the clutch went out in Portland, getting moving was not easy but it made it home.
Well that is all I have for now, hope you enjoy my project.
Side note, if anyone has an original functioning Becker radio they want to sell please get ahold of me.
