Engine light comes on when I press the brake
My engine light recently started coming on on my 1983 300CDT when sitting at idle with the brake depressed. It is the weirdest thing. The car brakes fine and runs well and strong but the idiot light is getting on my nerves. Checked the brake fluid level and for leaks all the way around and nothing. Integrity is sealed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

That is the brake wear indicator. Time to replace your brake pads.
Don't forget to install new sensors with them.

FYI; there is no such thing as a "300CDT", its just 300CD.
