I have a 1980 300TD that is my daily driver. This morning, when started it, it was running very rough and would die if I tried to let it idle. At first I thought it might be a glow plug issue, but as the engine warmed up, the rough running didn't get any better, although it would idle without dying. It has been some time since I ran a can of Diesel Purge through it, so I figured that cleaning the injectors might help. I got that set up and started it on the Purge. I was varying the rpm up and down when the engine quit running. It had sucked down the entire can of purge in about 3 minutes! It will usually run for around 30 minutes on a can. I'm stumped. Any ideas what could cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
