diff out put bearing

My previous posts show that I'm inching my way to some sort of solution. I finally got the seal out. In the process I did some damage to the bearing behind the seal. I mean the tapered roller bearing that is held in place by a large snap ring. Can I replace the bearing and leave the race in place? I'd sooner replace bearing and race but wonder if that needs to be pressed in. The bearing itself was OK before I damaged it slightly. Since it's a roller bearing there is much less chance of damaging the race than with a ball bearing one. Thanks for any advice. I'll probably be posting again.

change the race and bearing as they sort of "MARRIED" to each other as they are used.

So old one may be slightly worn to different angle and will kill the new bearing quickly.

Do it Right the first time - do not be cheap else you will be back in there to repair it again.
