Good day to all readers, its my first post on here but I thought I would give this a shot since I have no idea how to go about fixing this. I picked up a 230ce 5spd in silver green earlier this year and finally got it running and road tripped it for the first time 600+ miles. The other day I noticed that on every cold start my car leaves black soot on the ground and has turned my exhaust tips pure black but leaves no smoke what so ever and also the residue doesn't smell like unburnt fuel. Additionally, on cold start the car runs very poorly as in it hovers at around 650-850 rpm and shakes. Also my oil level is dropping could it be that my engine is burning oil or does it have to do with the car just running rich because? I have done a compression test and I got an average of 140 on all cylinders. Gonna check the spark plug tips later today and also try turning the CO-mixture screw counter-clock wise to lean it out.
Car is k-jet, m102 2.3L
