W123 4 speed Manaul gear linkage bushings

Hi All

Following on with my maintenance on the floor shift 4 speed 300D:

I have replaced the 6 bushings on the gear linkage rods.

One end was easy. Thats part number 1159920110. They fit on the end where the gear lever comes down from in the car.

The other end.....not so easy. Anyone any tips??

Part number 000920510 . This is not the same as on the Auto box. These are black and very hard rubber. Even with the arm out and on the bench, impossible to fit ito the arm, even using a pair of bushing pliers or a press.

Any ideas anyone?
