is that oil?

little help please,i noticed in my radiator resv theres oil at the top car runs normal no overheating no oil loss from dipstik level thats noticible ,also getting a squeky sound from floor shifter area a springy sound,thanks !

you most likely will need a new head gasket. The M104 motors are prone to do this because there is an oil channel running right next to a coolant channel. The head gasket over time wears down and they leak into each other.

if its the head gasket... its going to be pricey... i just had my front cover seal, gaskets, and cylinder head gaskets replaced.......

If you are doing the ehadgasket you might as well have the head redone too.

I could have gotten away with just doing my gasket, but I had the head redone, and engine runs better than ever and is like a new engine now.. bottom ends on these cars are pretty much bulletproof.

forgot to mention that if you have the head redone, get the timing chain replaced while they've got the motor apart. Not that much more $$ and well worth it if you're over 150k miles.
