interior lighting problem

My interior lights fail to come on only when the driver door is opened. The interior lights come on as they should when all other doors are opened. I think I have identified the problem to the wiring that goes from the Springloaded door switch on the drivers door to the actual lights. I know that the switch itself is o.k. because I have swapped it with the passanger side and it works. There are two wires that plug into this switch. Does anybody know how to access them or where they go(I assume they go to the overhead light through the front A pillar)It looks like you may be able to get to them through the lower side of the drivers foot well, near the emergency brake pedal, but you may have to remove the front quarter panel. Anybody know? Thanks, Matt.

The seatbelt warning relay has burnt out. When this happens, you'll get no dome light when the driver's door is opened, but it'll work fine when the passenger's door is opened. The repair CD doesn't tell you how to replace this relay.

ex 300E driver
But you can use the CD's to fix many other things.

Over 2000 files on the W124, this CD pays for itself after the first use.

(sorry for the shameless plug guys :p )

Yes, I have the repair CD but I don't see anything in it about my problem. Does any one know where the seatbelt warning relay is?

It's behind the instrument cluster, to the right, mounted on the firewall. You'll need to remove the instrument cluster in order to access it. Part is #004-545-07-32
