300e 2.6
I have read some negative things about the 260e and 300e 2.6, regarding power, but I have a 92 300e 2.6 and it seems peppy enough. Is there anything I may have missed about this car? Seems as good and solid as my wife's 87 300e. I just bought it with 85,000KM[50,000mi] on it for $12,000 Canadian dollars[US $8,000.00] Did I do well?

I think you did pretty well, although it may be a few thousand $$ on the high side, it really depends on the condition of the car.
I bought a 260E back in 1994 (it was a 1989) with 44,000Km on it.
it now has 314,000Km and still drives like day one.
True, it has never been a dragstrip champion but it is quite satisfactory. However , it remains a solid/safe/comfortable cruiser.
I had very few problems with the car.
You may want to check some of it's weak points:
Oil leak: right front corner of the engine. It is normally the front cover gasket.
Head gasket leak: Milky coolant liquid, leak at the right/rear of the engine.
Oil consumption: Valve stem seals or valve guides.
A few electrical gremlins are also fairly common.
Good luck and enjoy it.

Never had any climate control problems. Everthing in this department is still as it came out of the factory.
MPG ???? Good question" probably close to 30MPG on highway, 22 to 24mpg in town.
