Easiest option, is to change your spring pads to the lowest available, #1 all around, depending on if there is a height difference between front and rear.

If you want to drop the car, need to get new springs....

Give them new shocks some time to settle in...they will drop a bit with mileage.

Definetly go to a lower bump spring pad as well for a little more lowering....by little I means millimeters.

Lowering springs would be the best but you'll lose some ride comfort. You already have the HD shocks so for about $300 you can get a set of new springs to match and have it all fresh under there. If your present springs are old then your new shocks will be working harder.

Ok the car is lowered right ? On what size tires and rims and what kind of springs.? Reason I ask is that no matter how much you drive those HD shocks aren't going to settle in a few inches. They might settle a tad after a few thousand miles but by no means inches or even an inch. Springs are the ones that settle in more (a few inches )with driving. Try switching bump pads, if not this would be a great time to upgrade to 18's and lowering springs.

Why did you go HD Bilsteins to lower?? That's exactly opposite of what you should've done.

thanks for all your replies...

my intent was not to lower the car... i was perfectly satisfied with the height the factory shocks gave me....... but the shocks were getting old and i felt they needed replacement....

the main thing here is i did not take into consideration how much my factory shocks had settled over the last 11 years...... my thinking was that replacing the shocks with the new ones would provide me with the same height the car was at before....

the cars on 17's w210 sport rims......

If you lower you car...that's will kills your new HD Bilsteins in one or two years or you have to change to Bilsteins Sport.

I have lowering springs on my car with stock shocks for the last 3 years, and no issues yet with the chocks. my only reason for wanting the bilstein sports is to stiffen the shocks.

your new shocks will settle down a bit after a little while, you can change the spring pads to lower the car a bit.
