I think that rectangular oval tips look the best. The shape of the tip fits the rear of the car really nicely.

mike i love those ovals but where the hell do you get a set that will just weld onto your old stock dbl pipes? i have to go with 2 singles that exit out the lower fairing to make it look 1/2 way decent.

mike, know what would look nice on a 95 E320, looking for some AMG style square tips only but can't find, not even on ebay.

From what the guy at the muffler shop told me, you can put those tips on that muffler...BUT, you don't want to. He says that the weld marks will start to show really bad over a very short period of time. After I had my exhaust for about a week or so, I went back to the shop and asked them to put different tips on and he said he would do it but that the weld marks would show up pretty bad. If your muffler is black it's not a problem, but if it's stainless steele, like mine, you don't want to start welding other stuff to it.

Welds can always be ground flat then sanded and polished to disappear into the pipe but you will probably have to do this yourself because of the time it takes. I can't picture a muffler shop doing this.

You can also bring the muffler with the tips to a shop that can tig weld the tips on for a cleaner look. You will still see the welds but they will look great if performed correctly.

When I had the exhaust tips done on my Monte Carlo, they actually grinded down the welds. I was surprised because the shop actually took time out to do this. I was recommended to this shop by a few people. My two tips cost $80 including installation, and the welds look seamless and there is no rusting around them. My aftermarket ground effects kit hides most of the exhaust tips. Look around at the area exhaust shops, so you can see their work. You might find an inexpensive shop that does very high quality work.

My tips are 3.5 inch, straight cut, rolled edge:
