you should replace it every couple of years as far as I know.

I do mine every year, and my brakefluid every 2 years.

Peace of mind costs less than costly repairs.

Exclamation Coolant - be sure to use MB's

Hi, I agree with ashman on frequency, but if you just acquired the car, then given it's age it wouldn't hurt to replace it and flush it as you do so to get rid of the accumulated junk that might be floating around in there.

If you're doing it yourself you can buy the MB fluid on all of the popular sites for MB; my two favorites are autopartswarehouse.com and autohausaz.com. Lots of folks recommend parts.mbz.org and I tried them for an order but they goofed it up and have yet to correct it. (You listening, Rusty?)

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

does anyone know where the radiator drain is? I'd flush my own radiator fluid but I need to drain the old stuff first.

There should be an access panel on the right side below the bumper. Opening that panel gives you access to a red drain valve.

If you have green coolant in the car now, be sure you flush the engine block as well as the radiator. Probably best to let a shop do it. Drain plugs for the block are on the passanger side of the engine I think.

Yup, passenger side, 19mm. MB does make it's own flush for their cars. Comes in a powder and I've had good results using it. I've also seen benefit in using redline's water wetter in these M103's. 2 bottles makes a few C difference.

As yes, MbZ... Been there done that...!
