1992 300d 11,000??
I am looking at a 92 300D with 150,000 miles on it. the man is asking for 11.000 I think I can get it for about 10,000. He has most of the records so I can see when he made certain repairs and he seems to have taken good care of it. He recently chenged the timing belt as it was a belt that year, and has kept up with things. what problems if any should I epect, but foremost do you guys think it is a good price for that year and in very good condition? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much, and I hope to be part of the diesel family very soon!

I have a 300E, but I will help with as much as I can.
11k is a little much I think. I know it may be in excellent condition, but I would expect something like 9k or less. Either way, check the transmission. Open the windows and listen as you accelerate and come to a stop. Also, see what kind of response you get from the engine when you push it a bit. I know 300Ds aren't as powerful as 300Es, but they should still impress you a bit.
I heard 300Ds last forever, longer than the E's. 150,000 should be a third of its life at least. my 300E is at 290,000 and still running quite strong.
Hope this helps!

There is a gut on MBNZ that is a W124 guru and especially the diesel, because that is his car. His user ID is Dave M. He is in Sacramento. See what he has to say.
