W124 Interior Make Over
I was thinking of re-doing my front seats, rear bench, door panels, window pillars, & dash pad all in white Alcantara (suede)..
I don't drive the car that much so I'm not too worried about it getting dirty, I always liked the clean "pimpness" of a white interior. I think it would look clean and stand out, at car shows. And when I say white it's white not off white or creme..lol You guys have seen pics of my stock interior it's showroom clean light grey MB tex all the way around.
I can always do your standard blk/grey combo or something to that affect, but it's already been done. I want something different, clean and yet somewhat tasteful. Ok you guys can either flame me for this idea or toss in sum suggesstions..
Here's what it'll look like but in white.Bottom pic is what my interior looks like now.

Anyways, these pictures should give you a better idea. These are Brabus W124's so of course they had the interior redone.
here's a Brabus 6.8 E60 interior picture. Notice how the whole interior isn't alcantara especially the seats. Just the middle portion is alcantara and the rest is leather which is nice!
Now here pictures of a Brabus 300CE-3.6 1992. Black and blue leather. Pretty cool and different imo.
That's it for now.
I think the car would look good if it was a mixture of Leather & Alcantara. Being if you Alcantara the dash, center console, middle of the front seats, rear seats and poor panels and then leather everything else would be a good mixture. Hope this helps.
It's kinda of like those guys who chrome or gold plate EVERYTHING ! Or have every possible peice made from CF....all it says is that they spent (wasted???) alot of money. Sometimes (more than not) less is more.
JMO, I hope I was helpful. Eitherway I can't wait to see the results.Good luck!

Like the first picture Chris attached, I think I like the alcantara but not on the entire seats. I think the middle part of the seats is even cutting it a little close. If you want to redo them, it will look really old and cheap (even if the material isn't) if the whole things are covered in it. It sort of reminds me of '70s/'80s muscle car fuzzy seat style. :p
all around P-I-M-P I don't know if you guys know what I'm talking about. But I think you guys can tell from what I've done so far I would NEVER go down the gawdy ghetto route....So I came back this afternoon from the shop and I've pretty much decided on what style I'm going to do. Now I just have to gut the interior out and drop it off. I'll keep it under wraps until it's done, hopefully in time for our June 11 th meet. Gotta show them boys what
one2four or whatever we choose our club name to be , is all about.
*YNVDIZW124 - I've stopped thinking about how much I dropped into my W124 a long time ago. It's not about the money, it's about pursuing a vision and seeing it through. Besides I already have a 2000 ML320
& my daily ricer 2000 Altima on 17's and exhaust. Alcantara is going to run anywhere from $80 - 100 + a yard.Unless you have a hook-up and could get it cheaper. You'll need about 10 yrds to do front and rear seats. That's NOT including door panel inserts or anything else like that.
So figure around $1,000 - 1,300 just for the material. You'll also need new foam padding, a yrd or more for piping and other misc materials. Close to $1,500 - 1,800 for all materials , unless you know what you're doing I would leave this to the professionals. Easily another $1g to $2g depending on the craftsmanship. If you're going for the two tone leather and alcantara combo add another $500- 1g for the leather..Just like auto body & paint you can always find somewhere cheaper but you end up getting what you pay for. Make sure you get auto grade Ultrasuede or Alcantara, it's thicker then reg upholstery grade and it's also UV treated especially for the auto market so it doesn't fade or change colors in the sun & heat. Good luck bro, I know you're pretty handy so I know you can cut the costs down alot by doing it yourself.

I was rolling around stock for 2 yrs before I saved enough money for my new paint & kit.But I did what I had to do through determination and sacrifice.
That's why I encourage you & others to just be patient and see it through. If you truly have your heart into it, you can make it happen..
