fuel pump problems with my 300e

I just replaced the fuel pump and now when I turn the key, instead of hearing the fuel ump kick on I hear a solinoid clicking under the hood.
I switched the order around of the fuel pumps, could this be my problem?
To my understanding both the pumps are the same, so it shouldn't matter if there switched around or not? If I am mistaken will someone please tell me.

Nope not the OVP it's the fuel pump relay!! Oh yeah watch out when your on the freeway and you lose all power! or if your on the street and the car shuts off! This happends when the fuel pump relay has a short.
