Hirschmann auta 2040 install?
Hi , I have encountered a problem not only with the mounting of the antenna but with the wiring. 3 wires white, red and black.. the black I grounded to the chasis, the white and red wire I tried many combinations on the original plug (pin 3 and 6 seem to switch on only when the radio is turned on ) but the antenna refusses to operate.. any clear instructions on wiring this antenna where these wires should go..car to be installed in is a 90 300ce. Left message with the Hirchmann company and havent herd back from them.. .
.. if all fails is it difficult to replace the inside wire that spools around the gear inside that attaches to the antenna mast as this was pulled out of the original unit. Maybe a swap of antennas is in store?.... David

Red = +12v constant power
White = +12v Switched power (i.e. wire that is supplied by the radio when the radio is on)
Black = ground
On the mb plug there should be 5 wires or maybe 6 depends ont he year.
One of the wires should be constant power +12v the other should be antenna trigger wire which activates when the radio is turned on.
Pretty simple connection.
All the wiring should be there in the factory plug. you should use a test light or multimeter to test your wires.
