Self Levelling OUT, Shocks IN for my 230TE (W124)

After battling to decide if I should I spend a lot of money to keep the Self Levelling system or go for shock absorbers, I decided to take a drive down to Titan, a workshop that specialized in Customs Shocks.

Spoke to Richard, who sounded very confident and knowledgeable. I decided to try his solution. My TE had leaking hydraulic arms, rusted lines and probably, damaged diaphragm in the accumulators. To replace all these will cost me a few thousands.

Richard measure the height and made a pair of shocks. We had some problem with the lower mounting. After a few tries, Richard solved the problem and he adjusted the hardness of the shocks.

The car now rides well.

I know that the shocks can never give me the ride of the hydraulic but it is cheaper and more reliable. I am happy with my decision to use Titan.

I am sure many would still like to stick to the original hydraulic. However, for those, who want to do away with the hydraulic, for whatever reason, try Titan.

Richard also told me that the standard saloon (W124) shocks is not suitable for the TE(W124).

If you need more information, please feel free to ask.
