Interior Lighting

So, the past two days while driving at night. I've noticed that my instrument cluster lighting is horrible...dim to the point where I can barely see it at night while driving and all the other lights around me are getting dim too...the window switches and what not. What could be the problem? Should the fuses be replaced or something else within the fuse box. Doesn't really make sense. Everything use to be bright.

lol...could it be the light bulb in the instrument cluster? not sure if I should just go out and buy new fuses for everything, but I don't want to waste time if that's not the problem.

turn up the rheostat all the way to the right. you probably tried that already. i think its just the bulbs. because i replaced two of my window switches and they appear to be a lot brighter than the originals. ill take a picture tomorrow. i can't today since my brother took the camera.

hahahhahaha oh *****. That's probably why it's all dim now. I was cleaning that section the day before and I guess I dimmed it all the way down. I didn't know that was the dimmer! Guess I learned something today.

I'm going to get owned for this.

This problem got me my first benz for cheap!!!! The guy that was selling it said that all the lights inside didn't work so it needed electrical work and gave it to me for $1500 it was a 1989 300e in reallly good condition with a re-built engine. I took it home tried the dimmer switch and a miracle happend! I put a for sale sign and sold it for $3000

the reson why the merror is shorter (so ive been told) is because the allys are very tight in Germany, thus far, insted of replacing broken merrors all of the time, mr. benz made the one side smaller. am i right?

um thats not it. if that was true then both mirrors would be short and squatty.

it has to do with parking.

its because in europe, the short squatty side is facing the street when parked. so, that is why it is squatty, so other cars driving dont' hit them as they naturally stick out farther than the car. am i right?
