Hmmm that is very strange. They each say 3 pc and both are for 124. The only difference is one is a '94+ and the other is earlier but that shouldn't make a difference for that spoiler. Everything listed is more expensive for the later model. I say call them up and ask. It may be a typo.

More expensive is probbaly the real one - if you read the text it states original mercedens benz amg. the less expensive is probably a copy out of fiberglass.

Eric,
I would pay the extra money for the OG tail. Even if it's just for looks. Notice how fiberglass tails/spoilers on alot of cars start to sag once painted or from the heat of the sun.

lots of cars
Also with fiberglass it's not going to take 3 weeks to paint your car unless you want waves on the paint of the spoiler. Also making it fit right is going to take longer. On monday this place is going to tell me if it's fiberglass or not where im going to get the end caps for mine. My ducktail dosen't fit yours because it's for a sedan and it's a little taller.

I guess you've never seen Porsche 911 rear spoiler done by Strosek. Installed for the past two years and still lookin' great w/o a scratch.

I guess I should've explained better. I meant a large percentage of fiberglass REPLICA spoilers which we were talking about are not of high quality. You're trying to compare your high quality AUTHENTIC STROSEK $1000 + spoiler to cheaper made replicas, there's really no comparison.
* Eric - Why did you need to make a template? That's not neccessary any body shop can do it freeform with a grease pen. Take it to BK Autobody in Pasadena they're on Colorado and Sierra Madre past the Von's. They did the cut outs for my side markers on two of my cars. They charge like $20 to cut you'll have to do the wiring yourself or go to TWS.

The problem witht he fiberglass ducktail is that it will mot likely warp and cause problems later on, but it will look great when first done if done right.
I almost got the ducktail when I got my kit, but decided not to.

cali there is no way that a body shop could of cut these holes. they were not square and were an utter nightmare. that is why i went to a fab shop to get a template made to see what the side marker lights looked like. they were bad looking. they were for a bimmer but needed spacers/gromets to make them perfect.
i need the lights you got because they look nice and i am sure are rectangle cuts. do u remember the vendor? all i need are a good set of lights that mount flush and use uniform rectangle holes. wiring is no prob my buddy jonny lightning makes wire harnesses for any car known to man from scratch. also the fender cuts are no prob since jonny has everything from a tig welder to lots of fab tools.
i got wrapped up in removing the heads off the truck i bought this weekend so i have no idea on the ducktail. i hope its abs. i will ask tomorrow while i am at work scanning patients.
i agree with all the last thing i want is something that looks nice now and crap in 2 years.

Eric,
It's the first one. Just so you know they don't come with the actual bulb socket. Call and make sure, I remember they didn't but they might've changed. Either way it's pretty simple to hook up your own bulb socket. Your electrician friend should be able to do it..
I think your only other option is to grab a phone book and start calling
MB dismantlers for a used ducktail.
