1990 300E Spark Plug Wire Question

I am planning on replacing the plug wires on my 300E as the previous owner used a no-name set and I am unsure how long ago. My mechanic essentially gave me a new incomplete set of Beru wires (only have 5 of the 7 wires) so I was wondering if anyone out there had an old set lying around that they'd like to get rid of? If I cant find two extra plug wires, what other sets would you recommend? The set my mechanic sold me is essentially new but missing two wires (he let me have it for $15!) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try searching the dismantlers for beru plugs. I don't think they'll sell you parts to a set. Believe it or not Nology makes 8mm plug wires for 124s as does Magnecor. Kingsborne is another wire manufacturer from the UK that does 8mm wires. You can always go w/ Bosch too, can never go wrong w/ a quality product like Bosch. I haven't purchased or installed thicker wires yet but you might want to take some concern with whether or not it will fit the plug wire holder.

be careful when removing the old plug wires. When I replaced my plugs, the wires were basically glued onto the spark plugs. It was a real chore getting the plug wires off without breaking them. I hope yours come off easily. When you put the new plug wires on, put a drop of Auto Transmission Fluid on the plug wire socket and that will prevent the plugs from sticking to the wires.

Yeah, dielectric grease will work too.
