No they aren't. Gen II fogs are pretty much identical to the C36 AMG fogs:

I'm looking for a Gen2 front bumper, as shown on the E36 above... used, not new. Drop me a line if anyone knows of one for sale. Also looking for the matching fog lights from a C36 AMG.
On a side note, USA dealers can usually get any of those AMG parts, the problem is finding a parts guy who will take the time to bother. It's more work for them, although some are simply ignorant and don't know how to look them up properly. For stuff that US dealers can NOT order (for example, Euro headlight lenses, because they are not DOT legal), you can buy direct from Germany via www.speed-autoteile.com but be warned the shipping costs are not cheap. Their prices are excellent, however, they sell OE parts at wholesale... problem is the USD vs. Euro exchange rate kinda sucks right now.

I just found 2 sets of these in Thailand. They are original AMG not copies. But they are asking $400 for each.

Hey Darth Speed, is it the GENII or GenI AMG bumper?
Eric, if you can't wait then go ahead and sell it if you wish. I have to fix other things on my car before I can buy it. Your call or save it for me.

the part #s will be on the left underside or right underside of the bumper cover. if they dont start with hwa they are not the real deal. they will not necessarily have the AMG logo on the front of them. the real early ones did but the later ones had them removed. my 1st bumper cover had the logo dead center on the lower valance and when i got my 2nd one it was gone.

I gave up on trying to locate a used Gen2 bumper. I finally bought one new from the dealer... I talked them into giving me a good discount, since I do a lot of business with them. Anyway, if you order the B6- number for the front bumpers, it will include all the extra parts (lights, tow hook cover, etc etc). And it's CHEAPER, too! Go figure. I did a lot of research to dig up all the part numbers, and put them into a spreadsheet, so you can see what parts come with each B6- number. I only put the sedan stuff in there... the wagon has a different rear apron, and the coupe/cabrio has different side skirts.
The spreadsheet (in Excel and PDF format), along with photos of both Gen1 and Gen2 parts, is at this link:
http://www.w124performance.com/images/W124_AMG_kits/
BTW - the Gen1 and Gen2 bumper lights ARE NOT FOG LIGHTS. They are long-range, pencil-beam, auxiliary high-beam lights. When used with the wiring included with the B6-kit, they will turn on automatically with the high beams. The AMG C36 lights are fogs, and will fit (if you swap mounting brackets)... however these are only needed if you have 500E headlights. Standard W124 headlights have H3 fogs, only the 500E had H3 aux high-beams... because the 500E put R129 fogs in the bumper. The beam patters is totally different for fog lights... it's a low, wide, flat light pattern designed to cut underneath... well... fog. Photos of both types of Gen2 lights are at the link above, in the Gen2 directory.
Hope this helps someone out in the future...!

Oh yeah - if your dealer is having trouble looking up HWA- part numbers, tell them to leave off the "H". So for example, for the Gen1 bumper lights, search for "WA2018200156". Duval shows them available for under $100/ea...
