Sorry, only the S-class is a prestige car. The toy cars, i.e. SLs, etc., too.
nonsense.. I lived in Germany 4 years, and can tell you I've seen S-class cars that were all but stripped and E-class cars that had every option possible... the are simply two different models there, and "Generally" the S is the higher model.. not always.. Here in the US, it's the case more so.

The E and S class MB's are used here for taxi's for a reason, they are the best cars to do the Job, Other cars such as Skoda, VW's and Peugeot are also very good.
I was in a Peugeot just the other week that had done 362k city mileage, and was still going very strong......

However have any of you guy's come across this artical ?

There is nothing wrong with a Taxi

Do you remember Checker Cabs?

"The Checker was legendary for its sturdiness"

Wikipedia Link - Checker Cab

Back in the day, I dreamed of owning a Checker. I just thought they were remarkable vehicles after riding in one as a boy visiting my grandparents in New York City. They really were incredibly sturdy and I liked that 57-Chevy-like appearance.

To me, my 1995 E320 has that same kind of bank vault sturdiness and it has a more modern yet timeless appearance. My Benz may not be a Checker, but it sure is nice.

We had to drive a 2005 Accord for a month while our 124 was in the shop.
What a piece of S**T. The seats gave us extreme back problems even on short trips(1 hour). The interior fit and finish not to mention materials was so cheap. It reminded me of a Chevrolet Cavalier. We visited a friend who owns a 1992 Accord and the difference was shocking. My daily driver is a 1991 Taurus LX with every option, 175000 miles on it, and the quality of it still surpassed that of the new Accord. It just seems that all newer cars are made very cheaply these days. The idea of spending big $$$$$$$ on a depreciable asset/liability is so stupid! We got our 124 for such a deal and even though it is a 1992 we know that even if it gets totaled, which it is now considered to be due the cost of new MB parts, we only have $4,500.00 into it, not $25,000.00.
When I see someone driving such high priced vehicles I know they have either too much money and too little financial education, or are just plain stupid.
