wimpy on the 124. 17's are a pretty easy fitment on the 124, and oh yeah, I've got a set of 17's for sale! Ask Chappy, or email me. I've got lots of experience with those cars.

As mentioned 15" are used on the C-class. There are also "knock-offs" that are 15". You should be able to use any offset from 35-41 (at least that's what's recommended by Luke from tire rack)
I'm using 15" wheels. Why....cause I only pay $5 per tire. My dad has connections to get used tires with lots of thread left for that much. Lots of people get bigger wheels/tires when their original wheels/tires are still good.
I could get 17" tires also, but most of the 17" either has no thread left, or uneven tire wear on the inside from incorrect camber. In the last 5 years, I've spend only $40 on 2 sets of tires.
It doesn't really look too bad. BUT the 17" looks "right" on the W124. If I was paying full price for tires, I'd go with the larger 17".
