E420 to E500
I am in the process of getting a 95 E420, and I would like to make a few mods, rims, steering wheel, and the E500 fenders and side skirt.
Where would I get the fenders an the side skirt?
And how much would it cost me to put in a smaller MB steering wheel. I herd its not as much as the steering wheel as it is the installation that cost the most because of the air bag.

If I could find 500E front fenders and rear quarter panels, trust me, I would have them already.
Anyways, I've been wondering about the steering wheel as well. I would put a momo, but I would like to keep the airbag. lol My SRS light goes on sometimes and its "due" for a new airbag. Could this be quite possibly a good time to get a new steering wheel? perhaps so!

Putting another MB steering wheel with airbag is crazy easy....2 torx screws hold on the airbag and 1 13mm allen head bolt holds on the wheel....many late model MB wheels will bolt right in but you may need to savenge some horn parts from your old wheel to make it work. 500E wheels are 390mm...a bit smaller than regular stuff but their airbags (sportline or regular) fit their respective MB rims. "Victor' wheels out of Italy takes MB wheels and makes them into beautiful leather creations that bolt right in....search www.matrixcar.de for all their custom steering wheels (something like that link).
As for 500E body parts...you will have to get everything as they are custom for the .036s. Meaning front and rear covers, all the lower cladding and the front fenders; rear fenders will have to be pulled out a few inches to match up with the rear cover and cladding panels.
There are several junk 500E in the USA with body parts and eBay.de you can usually find fenders and bumper covers...of course, you can get new OE parts for $$$$$$$....front bumper cover list for about $1100 from a dealer....but none in USA; we bought the last front cover in MB stock last fall....only maybe a week to get them from Germany though. Good luck on the project.
