Central locking system problem
About a week ago my car began not to lock/unlock itself by remote. The alarm would disarm/arm but the locks would not lock/unlock. It can be unlocked/locked manually by key however it needs some force to do it.
When I unlock or lock the car I can hear a buzzing sound which I assume is the vaccuum and it goes on for at least a couple of minutes. If the vaccuum is staying on then I'm guessing its pushing or pulling down the locks continuously which is why I can't lock or unlock the car. It will work sometimes, but only when I haven't unlocked or locked the car for awhile.
Anyone else have this problem or any idea how I can fix this problem?
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated!!!
TIA

you have a vacuum leak in yoru vacuum system. first thing I would check is the fuel door lock. mine was doing the same thing,s o I removed the fuel door lock vacuum line and plugged it.
But ti could be a vacuum line anywhere related tot he locking system, perhaps in one of the door jambs the vacuum line has a crack in it or at the trunk look. I would start with checking the fuel door as it is the easiest one to get to. pull the right side trunk panel back, and try loking the car and listen for any sounds like that is leaking. if it is leaking, disconnect the vacuum line, and plug it and see if ti solves the problem. if it does, then you need a new fuel door lock. if not, you have to check them one by one. it may be a bad actuator in a door.
Either way it definately sounds likea vacuum leak if the pump is running for more than a few seconds.
